East of Eden: This is my favorite James Dean movie, that's not much of a statement because he only made three movies before he died, however it's still true. This movie is based on the last quarter or so of John Stienbeck's book by the same title, the plot is a retelling of the story of Adam and Eve and the garden of Eden. It's a very thought provoking story and James Dean and Julie Harris are wonderful in the movie.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull: So some movies you hear are terrible and despite that you still are curious and you want to know if they really are as bad as everyone says? At least I do. This movie really was about like everyone said. It wasn't the best idea to have an Indiana Jones movie with the main characters in their 60s, and some movies, to me at least, are better without high tech special effects; in Raiders of the Lost Ark the effects are not so great by today's standards, but that's part of the charm of that movie I think. Any way this movie was akin to the Sandlot 2, in that it was hanging onto Raiders, it tried to recreate a lot of the scenes but it just wasn't the same. As for Shia LeBouff, we won't even go there.

Charade: Audrey Hepburn and Carey Grant are great in this movie. Charade is a good mix between romantic comedy and thriller. I go back to this movie time and time again.

The Other Side of Heaven: This movie is about Elder John Groberg and his LDS mission to Tonga. A lot of movies about or made by Mormons tend to be on the cheesy side, and while this one is a little bit it's much better. The movie is based on facts (I don't know enough about it to know how closely they followed what happened but I feel like it's very close.) The movie is filmed...well I don't know that it's actually Tonga but it's in the Pacific Islands somewhere and it's breath takingly beautiful. Elder Groberg went to Tonga in the 50s when most people were fairly unfamiliar with Tonga, he spent his mission on a small island. This movie is quite exciting, amazing things happened to Elder Groberg. If you are unfamiliar with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (also known as Mormons) this movie is a good way to learn more.

The Sandlot 2: As far as this movie is a continuation made several years after the original move, it's not too bad, that being said you might as well just stick with the original movie.

Howard's End: I'd heard about this movie and I'm a fan of Emma Thompson, however I didn't enjoy this movie, I found it terribly depressing. I also don't really understand this movie and I'm sure that doesn't help matters any.

Just Like Heaven: This movie is a cute, funny and utterly impossible chick flick.

White Christmas: I don't know if this movie is really all that amazing, however it is a holiday classic and tradition. It's funny how so many "Christmas" movies really have little to do with the holiday. White Christmas is still an enjoyable movie with great song and dance numbers. I wish it would snow again even though we had a white Christmas.
The Italian Job: First off I wish to clarify that this in not the more recent version with Mark Walberg, etc. this is the original movie with Michael Caine. I imagine you weren't aware that there was an original version, nor was I, I got this version by mistake from the library. This movie really is rather dreadful. The ending was appalling, the plot was weak, I would recommend just passing on this movie all together unless you want to see it for the beautiful scenery in the Alps.
