Despicable Me 2: I just saw this at the dollar theater with some friends the other night. It was pretty good, I haven't been able to decide which was better, 1 or 2, they were both pretty good. This movie was not just the same plot line recycled from the first one. I think there's something for different senses of humor too, there were parts that made me laugh quite hard and different parts where my friends were laughing very hard, so that's a good thing I guess.

Despicable Me: I'm late to the party on this one, this was the first time I've seen it. It's pretty good and funny, maybe not quite up to the hype though.

Iron Man 2: I don't know if I liked this better than the first, it was on par I guess. I wasn't a fan of Don Cheadle playing Rhody, Cheadle is of course very talented but I preferred the previous actor.

The Incredible Hulk: As I may have mentioned, I'm watching my way through the Avengers movies. From Iron Man I went on to the Hulk, to clarify this is the more recent Hulk movie. I started watching this movie one evening when I was quite tired and I was having a hard time getting into it. I stopped maybe a third of the way in and really debated whether or not I would finish the movie, eventually I did finish but I don't feel the need to ever watch it again. I guess... Bruce Banner/the Hulk is a nice guy (when he's not the Hulk) and has mystery and a sad situation but he's not really charismatic which I think is something that draws us, me anyway, to superheros, like Iron Man, I have some very negative feelings about Tony Stark but he's charismatic and that draws me in.

Iron Man: I thought I'd posted about this already but apparently not. I had mixed feelings about this movie, I quite enjoyed parts of the movie and other parts made me want to stop the movie and not continue. Tony Stark is charming and likeable but he's also somewhat of a pompous, arrogant, jerk...

Invitation to the Dance: This was an interesting movie, a pet project of Gene Kelly's. There's no dialogue in the movie, it's three filmed ballets, beautiful ones.

The Cover Girl: Another Gene Kelly movie, apparently it was a break out role for him. It was a kind of hokey musical, but there were some really ground breaking (for the time) scenes.

The Seven Samurai: I've been wanting to see this movie since I saw the Magnificent Seven, which I learned was based on The Seven Samurai. The two movies are very similar and I wish that I'd watched the two movies in the opposite order. It was a bit hard to want to finish Samurai because it was so similar to the Seven, to the point that I could say, oh this is that same character etc. Samurai is very long and while it's well made, that's a lot of subtitles to read and it's also more crude than I remember the Seven being. I find my self over all drawn more to the Seven over the Samurai, both are good but in the Seven are actors I know, and a paradigm I understand much better, it's more accessible to me.

Hotel Transylvania: I was not overly impressed with this movie. It was alright. Also, the plot is Little Mermaid, but with monsters.
